Library Update - Week 4 2020/08/17 Updated
We have started to receive some fantastic photos and videos for the virtual parade. Year 4, 5 & 6 have been a little shy in uploading – we encourage everyone to embrace the Book Week spirit and take a photo or 2 second video dressed in character. A friendly reminder, these are due in by Friday 21 August. Please refer to the email for details.
Nano Story Writing (Years 3-12)
As part of the Book Week celebrations across both the Primary and Secondary divisions, students will participate in an exciting writing initiative at school, the composition of a nano story; a nano story is a story of exactly 50 words.
In honour of this year’s Book Week theme, all stories must include the word ‘curious’ (or a derivative of that word). Class teachers (Years 3-6) will introduce the nano story to the students and support their writing. Students will be given the opportunity to share their nano story on Padlet, an online platform. Please note, sharing the stories with others will be optional. This exciting initiative will be introduced to students in Years 3-12 next week. We look forward to sharing these with you during Book Week.
Book Trailer Competition (Years 3-9)
A number of students have expressed interest in the CBCA Book Trailer Competition. Details about entry and how to submit can be found here: https://www.cbcansw.org.au/collide-book-trailers. The competition ends on Monday 31 August.
Premier’s Reading Challenge Update
We now have 244 students who have completed the Challenge, well done boys and girls! The Challenge ends on Friday 28 August. Please contact your child’s class teacher or the Library (firstname.lastname@example.org) should you have any questions.
