Extra Curricular Program

Our ECA Program at a Glance

As we say here at AISHK, it’s all about balance

We believe in providing students with all-round development and an opportunity to develop their interests and passions. That’s why AISHK offers over 80 varied Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) related to sports, performing and creative arts, STEM, academics, community activities and more.

Held at AISHK's outstanding, on-campus facilities, and coordinated by both AISHK staff and external vendors, all our ECAs are provided to encourage a sense of enjoyment and achievement, promote teamwork and build friendships.

    Swimming ECA For Years 4-12

Please note that swimming is not included as an option as it will be by invitation only. All current squad members will be contacted by our Aquatics Manager, Mr Eric Yeung.

If you are new to the school and/or would like to join the swim squads (Gold/Silver Squad) or the Swimming ECA (Bronze Squad), please contact Mr Yeung at eric_yeung@aishk.edu.hk and he will arrange a trial for you at the beginning of term.

Please note that our squad swimming is training and we do not run a Learn to Swim Program. If you need assistance, we can connect you with a Learn to Swim provider.

    General Terms and Conditions

    1. All enrolments for Extra-Curricular Activities and Sport will be using a preference system to ensure that all students get the opportunity to participate. There will be no limit on the number of ECA’s you can choose, but as it is a preference system, there is no guarantee that students will get all their choices. However, we hope that all students will get at least one of their choices.
    2. Activities will only take place if there are sufficient numbers to run the activity. In the event an ECA is cancelled due to lack of numbers, parents will be informed by email.
    3. The school reserves the right to refuse an application or exclude a participant if his/her presence has a negative effect on the activity.
    4. Students who do not exhibit appropriate behaviours in extra-curricular activities will be asked to leave the class. Parents will be advised if a student is exhibiting inappropriate behaviour.
    5. In the event of cancellation of an activity, Prep-Year 2 parents will be contacted directly via email to the relevant parents and a School App notification will be posted as well. Primary and Secondary students will be contacted via their class teacher and automatically placed on school buses, where appropriate.
    6. If an activity needs to be cancelled, make up classes will not be arranged.
    7. In the event of illness or injury, make up classes will not be arranged.
    8. Students are not permitted to enter any of the ECA areas unless their tutor/coach is present.
    9. Course fees quoted apply for one (1) term only. A student can ‘trial’ an ECA for the first lesson only, after this time the full term’s fee for the ECA will be charged.
    10. If a student attends an ECA for a second time or more, they will be charged the termly amount for that specific ECA. No reimbursement will be given where a student is attending another school or out of school event.
    11. Payment for activities will be added to your school fees account at the end of the term. Your payments/charges will be listed on your school fees account.
    12. If your child has an ECA or activity after school and is an Early Childhood student, please ensure they are properly supervised either by you or your helper until his/her activity commences. You can wait in the Cafeteria or Sports Terrace. Students are always to remain with their parents/helper.
    13. If your child is an Upper Primary or Secondary student, and you are unable to supervise them, they may wait in the Library (only until 4:30pm), quietly doing homework or reading a book until their activity starts.
    14. The taking of photographs or the recording of audio/video is not permitted.
    15. If you have arranged for your child to go home on the 4:15pm (after school) bus, please ensure they are aware that they MUST immediately go down to the Sports Terrace (outside the Cafeteria) and wait for the bus escort to collect them.
    16. Children being picked up by a parent or guardian after an activity should be collected promptly at the classroom/facility specified.
    17. In some cases, to enhance student learning, the coach/tutor may request that parents are not present during classes. The coach/tutor’s discretion is final in such matters.
